Do I become an employee of VB Nanny Agency?

VB Nanny Agency is a referral agency. We help connect nannies to families looking for childcare. The state of Virginia requires all nannies and babysitters, who make more than $2,300 in a given year, to become a household employee. This means, once you are hired by a family, they will become your employer. Different employers offer different benefits. Some will provide healthcare, PTO, 401k, etc depending on the position you hold with them.

What should I expect as far as hourly pay?

Our families pay anywhere from $15-30 per hour. Your hourly pay is based on your experience and educational background. We will advise which bracket we feel you would best qualify for during your nanny interview.

What duties will I be required to preform as a nanny?

All positions are different. Some families just require you to care mainly for their little ones and ask for some light cleaning or tidying up at the end of your shift. However other families, will request more household manager type duties to be preformed. Some of which may include: cleaning, doing laundry, meal prepping, cooking, running errands, etc. Usually these families will offer more per hour if they require more in depth duties to be done.

What do you require from your nannies?

We strive to provide the best possible care to our families and that starts with you! We only want hard-working, reliable and trustworthy individuals on our team. We expect that our nannies provide our families and their little ones with respect as well as keep open lines of communication with parents. This is essential to ensure your long lasting relationship with the family. We do inform our nannies that if there is ever a time where you need advice or just to discuss a concern, please reach out to us. We are happy to to help!
